Countdown to Sketchbook Skool

In anticipation of the beginning of klass(!) next week, I bought some new sketching pens. Some are permanent and others will move when washed with water.

My inspiration for this sketch was a photo from a mailed amex credit card brochure (without photographer credit so I'm unable to do so here). The sketch was done quickly, almost as a gesture drawing, hence the weirdness of the left figure's face and puny right arm but I left it, then applied some water to get some shadows for depth. Figures are something that rarely enter my work to date so I'm just happy that they're recognizable.

I'm heading out this morning sketchbook et al in hand to do some plein air work, so I should have some more to post later today or tomorrow.
